Saturday Night-Out Style: Make-Up Look And Outfit!

Tuesday, 9 April 2013

Good evening Stylicias!

Today's Outfit Of The Day post is technically going to be an 'Outfit Of The Night' one - Saturday night in particular!

As I mentioned at the end of last week, I had a night out planned for the weekend, and this is what I wore. I had a really good night overall - got very (embarrassingly) drunk, made my feet sore from all the dancing, and spent Sunday trying to nurse a hangover, but all in all, great night!

The dress looks a bit white with the flash on my camera, but it was pink, trust me!
At first, I did consider wearing my heels from yesterday's post - but, not wanting to risk the possible pain I would get from wearing them for hours, I instead chose to wear my pink studded wedges with this gorgeous pink dress from missguided I got as a Christmas present from my sister (also with gold studs on the neckline!). I really think the dress and wedges went lovely together, and it was kinda nice to wear something bright instead of my usual dark choices for a night out clubbing. The dress was comfortable too, not too tight or loose, nice material, and has a zip at the back to fasten.

Er, not sure what I was doing, but as you can see, the zip and studs on the neckline!

For my make-up, I wanted to make the red lips my main statement, so skipped the blusher, did a bit of contouring, and used a white/gold neutral coloured eye-shadow. As well as the gold from the H&M eye palette I used in my Mother's Day Make-up Post, I also used the shades 'Foxy' and 'Bootycall' from Urban Decay's Naked 2 Palette on the crease and under the arch of my brow. I think it's important to choose one thing to focus on - either lips or eyes. If you're going for dramatic eyes, have a nude, light coloured lip, and if you're going for bold lips, keep the eyes minimal if you can! The only other things I added to my eyes was a little mascara, false eyelashes (you can't go wrong with falsies for a night out) and a line of liquid eyeliner to the top lid (to disguise the false lashes a bit). I used Soap&Glory's Supercat Eyeliner Pen (you can read my review for that here) and Eylure Naturalities Intense Lashes 145 using Revlon's Precision Lash Adhesive Glue.

Tip: I find that using a false lash applicator makes it much easier to apply lashes - less glue on your fingers and less struggling to get it in the right place! I used Technic False Eyelash Applicator from Bodycare.

As well as my usual routine with my brows, I also used The Glamour Collection's Perfect Eyebrow Kit (£4 from Matalan). I got mine ages ago but it's really great for getting your brows looking defined and staying put. It includes 3 stencils for you to use depending on the eyebrow shape you want (natural, super-fine, and full), 3 shades of powder including one for highlight, clear eyebrow gel, a powder brush, and an eyeliner pencil, along with step-by-step instructions. Pretty good for the price!

Natural - good for thick brows

Super-fine - ideal for thin brows

I find 'Full' matches my brows the best - they're pretty much in between!
