Summer Bucket List!

I'm back!

And, relax..

Phew. What an exhausting, busy, stressful, and mad past couple of weeks. I had my last exam for the summer today, and now I have officially finished college until September - yay!

You would not believe how glad I am to throw all those revision notes behind me for good, and begin to actually enjoy my summer holidays.. It feels so good to even be back here on my blog, able to connect with you all again, and get things back to normal. I'm home at last!

Now I finally have time to breathe again, I figured why not make a bucket list for all of the things I want to actually do this summer. It honestly felt kinda weird coming home and having nothing to do for a change, and while I do enjoy relaxing, I don't want these next few months to fly by without me having achieved anything productive.. or fun!

I remember seeing some Spring Bucket lists back when it was only approaching March/April (wow, can't believe it's June already - where has the year gone?!) and I thought 'hey, I'd like to have a go at that'. Except, now it's summer, and spring is kinda over.. but now is my chance to do one for the summer!

So here goes, my summer to-do list. Feel free to add any of these to your own bucket lists!

Read books. Lots of them.
- Eat Pray Love
- Skinny Bitch
- Some book about conquering overeating that I can't remember the name of!
- Bobbi Brown make-up manual and Lauren Conrad Beauty book (see below)
- Matthew Hussey's 'Get The Guy' No, I'm not desperate to find a man and settle down, and I would never normally buy a dating advice book, but this guy is good!! I really think he could teach me a thing or two about the confusing male species. Plus, he's hot. Need I say more? Google him if you don't believe me.
- The Tools
- What Would Audrey Do?

I'm clearly a bit obsessed with self-help books!

Give my blog some t.l.c I feel like I've neglected my blog over the past month or so, but now I have the chance, I really want to get back into the gist of things again. I'm currently reconsidering the whole 'new post must be out everyday thing' - even though I had to stop doing that while exams were happening, the world didn't end because my schedule was a bit all over the place. In fact, I feel like it gave me a much needed break, and now I have a clearer vision for exactly how I want my blog to be. I've seen plenty of successful blogs running that don't post consistently everyday, and honestly, what's the point in constantly scheduling  new posts if the content is, well, rubbish? Good content will always be better, even if it's not out on a daily basis!

Oh, and as for good content, I'm going to make sure I keep doing more outfit posts, beauty reviews, and continue on with my Dress Addict series. Stuff that's helpful to others as it is to me!

Get fit in time for my holiday I've got my bikinis at the ready and now I just need to make sure I feel comfortable wearing them - that means keeping an eye on my diet, running every week, losing my gym virginity and generally just getting more exercise. My main enemy is motivation, but with the glorious weather we're having lately, I have no excuse to not get out of the house. I refuse to let myself stay cooped up indoors!

Become a make-up pro When I was having a little browse around Waterstones on Monday (I love spending time in book shops. Am I the only one who loves the atmosphere of those places?) I could not keep my eyes off the chunky pretty make-up books. It's not even that I want to be a make-up artist or anything, but I just really really love make-up - I love experimenting with things, mastering looks, and generally findings new ways to accentuate my features. Lauren Conrad and Bobbi Brown's Make-Up Manual particularly caught my eye. Besides, the more I learn new stuff.. the more I can share it with you guys!!

Look after my skin Similar to the make-up one, but I feel like I struggle in looking after my skin because I don't know exactly how to. I've read loads of articles, advice, tips, product reviews, tried many different products, and while they make my skin feel good (if used routinely and religiously), they don't exactly improve the appearance of those pesky spots. And my skin's an annoying combination mix of oily and dry right now. And yeah, I know the obvious ones are 'drink loads of water' and 'eat healthily' but come on, let's be realistic! I think an appointment at the dermatologist is needed.

Create A Summer Playlist This is mainly for my long car ride to France in a month that I'll have to endure, but I fancy sticking some high quality songs (yes, off iTunes for a change) onto my ipod to cheer me up whenever I'm in damp spirits and instantly get me in that summer lovin' mood.

Get my Cinderella on Instead of spring cleaning, now that I actually have the time do it, tidying and cleaning is my main priority! I think my room has turned into a direct reflection of how stressed I've been feeling lately and the accumulation of mess that's piled up is shocking. I need to:
- Tidy/Empty Drawers
- Sort out wardrobe (you should see how my clothes are rummaged in there at the moment. I can barely see anything I own anymore and have to keep wearing the same stuff at the front to avoid venturing through the back)
- Try to keep my room tidy. Clear room, clear mind!

Get as tanned as possible. Not going to be easy, but I may splurge on some expensive Ted Baker long-lasting stuff. I'm a fair-skinned girl so unfortunately have a hard time tanning naturally (don't think I've ever developed a natural tan in my life - I am only blessed with sunburn)

Spend the day at a beach If possible, a nice beach. That I can swim in. And sunbathe on the sand. You should see the beach where I live - I'm surprised we can even call it a beach!

Go on at least one date My pickiness in men is not getting me anywhere. I can dream can't I? Why can't my life be a Grease movie. Where's my Danny?

Be involved in a water fight If no one is having one, initiate one. Context is irrelevant.

Save up my money And eventually start my Sociology course. Yep, in the summer. No real breaks for me! The good news is though, it's online. I just need to stop online shopping.. gah, so hard!

Get better at writing I now have a journal, I just need to make sure I keep writing in it. I'm thinking of travel writing at the moment - I'm definitely going to do that while in France! For now though, it's fun to keep writing dialogues of conversations I've eavesdropped in. Hilarious to read back on!

Practice gratitude I've been taking a lot of things for granted in my life lately, and I know this because it's when I stopped reminding myself of the good things I have in my life that I started getting grumpy again! That's just proof enough for me that it works, and gratitude is literally key to lasting happiness. Reminding myself everyday of all the wonderful things around me is the most important thing.

Spend time with friends and family One of the things I've been taking for granted and feel rather guilty over is the fact I've been taking for granted the amazing people I have in my life. I've had moments of feeling down lately because I've felt a bit lonely, but then realised that I've been the one not looking after these social relationships and pushing people away! (probably due to exam stress, but hey ho, it needs fixing). I'm focusing on being the best person I can be to those close to me, being thankful for their role in my life, and spending time with them as much as possible as well as appreciating everything they do for me - it's the least I can do for them when they do so much for me.

And that's a wrap! I actually wrote a lot more on than I had expected/planned. But the more stuff for me to focus on (that's actually down in writing) the better!

What's on your bucket lists for this summer? Is there anything you'd love to do that you've never done before?

Thanks for stopping by everyone - hope you all have an equally as wonderful summer.
