I'm On Holiday!

Tuesday, 16 July 2013
Hi everybody!
Last week, I completely forgot to let you all know that I'd be leaving for a 2 week holiday to France with my family on the 12th of July, so whilst I'm here now and borrowing my dad's laptop with the villa's wifi, I figured now would be a good time to explain my absence!

I'll make sure to take some pictures of my outfits while I'm here, and give you all a nice blog post o my holiday recap when I'm back :-)

Hope you're all having a wonderful summer - remember you can all keep up with what I'm up to on my twitter page!

My Dress Addiction: Dress #5: Baby Pink Lace FIRST OUTDOOR PHOTOSHOOT!

Tuesday, 9 July 2013

This post is part of an ongoing series of my addiction to dresses and insight into my endless collection. Read the first post here.

Hello everyone!

Again, apologies for the very late post - in Great Britain this week we've had absolutely glorious weather, so I've been pretty busy with going out and trying to make the most of it!

Fear not, though - whilst I was out, I discovered a very nice secluded field, and thought 'wouldn't this be the perfect place to take outfit photos for my blog' and here we are! I'm still a little shy and reluctant about taking pictures in public places, which is mainly why you see photos of me in my bedroom, haha. So until I am comfortable enough with posing in front of complete strangers, I thought this place would be ideal..

Today's latest frock is this pretty little pink lace dress from a shop called Hype in my home-town Southport. I'm not sure if they have these shops anywhere else in the country (I'm sure they do) but I popped in there a few months ago, had a look at the sale rack, and found this little beauty. It was the first thing I had bought from there actually, and I'm always a little bit hesitant about getting things from places I've never shopped at before - you don't know what kind of quality you're going to get! But it's safe to say, I was very pleased. This one was reduced to £12 from £24, and I'd wanted a cute pink lace dress for ages - this ticks all the boxes!

My Dress Rating:
★★★★

Super pretty dress, I'm generally very happy with it - it's perfect for Spring or Summer because of it's light colour and floaty, light material, and looks great on tanned skin! The only bad thing I'd say about it is it doesn't have a zip, so can be a bit tricky to put on, and it's a little see through. Make sure you're wearing white underwear!

What do you guys think of lace dresses? Do you own one, what colour? Hope you all liked the photos and the dress - it was fun taking them outside, despite the sun making me squint haha!

Also - do any of you have tips for taking great pictures outside, like whether to face away from the sun or not? I'm very much a newbie to it all so I'm clueless, any help would be appreciated!

Have a wonderful week everybody. x

My Dress Addiction: Dress #4 The Leopard Maxi!

Tuesday, 2 July 2013

This post is part of an ongoing series of my addiction to dresses and insight into my endless collection. Read the first post here.

Good evening Stylicias! Today's latest revelation from my unhealthily high number of dresses is this classic summer beauty - the leopard maxi! Summer is the time, of course, to bring back out our maxi dresses from deep inside our wardrobes, and they are probably one of my favourite items to lounge around the sun in for this season.  And this one is, in fact, a fairly recent buy, as I purchased it right after finishing my last exam. It was a day I intended to celebrate and treat myself, so I thought, well what better way to do it than splurge on a nice new outfit for myself - am I right?

However, this was a dress I felt slightly pressured into buying! In Liverpool they have lots of these wonderful little shops spread around, not necessarily well-known high street ones, but nice local ones with gorgeous clothes in - sometimes expensive, sometimes affordable. I went into this particular one which I now forget the name of, and whilst I was just having a look around, the foreign lady working there was consistent on not letting me leave there without paying for something!

I reluctantly tried this dress on in the changing rooms just to make her happy, but I have to admit, once I threw it on, I fell in love. As we all MUST know by now, I have a huge weakness for leopard print, and with the cut-out sides in the middle, it was perfect. So I forked out the £20 for it!

My Dress Rating:

★★★★

I love this dress - I envision wearing it while walking around the barbecue on holiday, or dipping my toes in the pool! Can be worn casually or dressed up with heels :-) the only downside is that it's a bit too long for me with flats on (I have to keep holding it up!)

What do you guys think of this dress? Hope you liked the post :-).

Have a lovelyyyy day!
